Black-and-white Warbler
Song
Even, roller coaster pattern of thin, rising and falling notes: wee-see wee-see wee-see wee-see; sometimes two-parted.
Bay-breasted Warbler
Song
Usually shorter and hissier than Black-and-white; more emphasis on descending notes. Suzie suzie sue.
Cape May Warbler
Song
Sometimes a distinctive, high, thin see see see see. Also a more emphatic song that may be similar to some unaccented American Redstarts but usually faster, choppier, and thinner.
Blackpoll Warbler
Song
Simple series that gets louder in the middle. Primary song (e.g., NL cut) is slower and often lispy; secondary song is faster, more insect-like.
Blackburnian Warbler
Song
Highly varied songs, often incorporating extremely high notes; usually rising overall but some versions begin with high notes; more vibrant or trilled quality than other squeaky wheel warblers.
American Redstart
Song
Sharper, more emphatic than Bay-breasted or Black-and-white; often with distinctive accented ending (e.g., NB, NY, and TN cuts).
